Biography

Jeffrey M. Ferranti, MD, MS is Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at Duke Health and oversees the Duke Institute for Health Innovation. He leads system wide digital strategy and applied AI, steers investment through the BLUETEC Fund to solve priority clinical and operational problems, and has shaped strategic partnerships with Microsoft, Abridge, and nference while guiding responsible deployment through Duke Health AI Evaluation and Governance. A Six Sigma Master Black Belt, he pairs disciplined improvement with clinical insight to move ideas from pilot to enterprise scale.

Previously he led Duke’s enterprise Epic deployment across four hospitals and more than four hundred clinics and today runs a broad digital health portfolio that includes self-scheduling, telehealth, remote patient monitoring, and virtual nursing. He is Professor of Pediatrics and Informatics at the Duke University School of Medicine, practices neonatal critical care at Duke University Hospital, and earned his MD from McGill and a graduate degree in biomedical engineering and medical informatics from Duke. This blend of front-line care, rigorous engineering, and scaled execution equips him to help innovators and investors turn evidence into sustainable value for patients and teams.
